Technical Services

Engineering optimization & evaluation of drawings

For extruder parts replacement and new-project development, the correctness of drawings directly impacts equipment fit and long-term reliability. Lesun’s engineering team offers drawing-review services systematically checking critical dimensions, tolerance fits, material selection, and operating-condition suitability, finding potential design risks and offering optimizations to make sure parts fit the equipment system closely and operate stably in actual operation.

Reverse engineering and measurement

When a customer has only a physical sample and no original drawings or technical data, Lesun’s measurement and reverse-engineering capability analyzes and reconstructs the structure and dimensions of screw elements, shafts and barrels, providing complete CAD drawings and a BOM that are directly fed into manufacturing. This swiftly translates a physical component into production-ready technical data, guaranteeing the replacement is an exact match to the original system.

Failure and wear analysis

Lesun uses an engineering failure analysis approach (macro-morphology analysis, wear-pattern identification, and material/operating-condition matching) to identify the root cause of abnormal wear, fracture, or performance decline in extruder screws and barrels across design, material, heat treatment, and process dimensions. We offer an analysis report and improvement recommendations to help customers reduce the chance of recurrence failure and increase the running stability.

Product Customization and Development

Special function screw element development

Lesun develops custom screw elements engineered around specific processing objectives:

  • Large-lead, variable-lead, and reverse-lead conveying and compression elements with geometries optimized for precise control of conveying capacity, filling behavior, and pressure development.
  • Kneading elements with selected stagger angles, wide kneading disks, or asymmetric geometries designed to provide flexible dispersive mixing while limiting excessive shear and protecting shear-sensitive materials.
  • Kneading-block configurations with specialized lobe profiles, defined stagger angles, and multi-stage stacking arrangements engineered to enhance distributive mixing, improve material uniformity, and optimize residence-time distribution.
  • Specialized mixing elements incorporating barrier geometries and flow-splitting/recombination structures designed to generate controlled shear and elongational flow fields for enhanced dispersive and distributive mixing.
  • Multi-stage progressive or step-change shear-zone configurations, with kneading-block stagger angle, disk thickness, and element arrangement precisely designed for graded shear-intensity control along the processing section.
  • Functional element combinations designed for efficient interface renewal and controlled residence-time distribution (RTD), supporting reactive extrusion processes such as polymerization, grafting, and coupling.
  • Self-cleaning thread and conveying elements designed to promote effective material turnover and stable pressure development toward the die, improving discharge stability and process continuity.

Wear and corrosion resistant materials solutions

Lesun offers design and service life optimization of screw elements and shafts for high-filler, glass-fiber reinforced, flame-retardant and corrosive systems with material matching.

Supply-Chain Optimization

Parts database

Lesun constructs a specialized parts database for its primary customers, which encompasses part specifications, machining parameters, and process information. This database is designed to facilitate fast retrieval, improved spare-parts response, and technical matching, and is based on long-accumulated multi-model drawings and engineering data.

Emergency production response

A priority emergency-production channel is capable of promptly responding to urgent requirements, such as equipment stoppage, by compressing scheduling and delivery time to reduce customer downtime during critical moments.

Shared spare-parts stock planning

Lesun ensures a continuous, stable supply while reducing the customer's inventory burden by establishing a shared spare-parts inventory for high-frequency critical parts. This inventory is available for on-demand call-off with periodic settlement.

Consulting and Training

Basic Technical Consulting

Lesun provides basic technical consulting on screw-element selection, screw-configuration optimization, and routine maintenance, as well as systematic user training. This assistance is designed to help operators and maintenance staff master critical process points, thereby enhancing the operational stability and service life of equipment.
